Reverse engineering a responsive website

Firstly, forgive our attention grabbing headline – we hate jargon as much as you!

What we mean by this is developing a website to make it work better on mobile and tablet devices.

Our most recent project was to develop a mobile website for www.undiscovered-destinations.com. The original website was developed over five years ago, well before tablets outsold desktop machines. This meant it wasn’t mobile friendly.

The resulting development now improves the user experience by making navigation much easier and scaling content to suit the screen size. The website will now detect the screen size you are browsing on and display the most suitable version.

As part of this phase of development we also took the opportunity to upgrade the admin area with a new TinyMC editor in place of the previous, and now outdated Java editor.

Overall this project was delivered at a fraction of the price it would have cost to develop a new website.

Future development work is planned to improve the gallery sections enabling full screen image to display their products through shadow box.
